The Challenge: Clear the Corporate Clutter
Erin O’Malley isn’t your average speaker, and she didn’t want an average speaker site. Her work centers around communication, leadership, and connection, delivered with a mix of insight and wit that sets her apart. But her existing website wasn’t capturing that essence. It leaned a little too “Corporate Connie” and not enough “Erin.”
The content felt heavy, the design a bit disjointed, and there were too many CTAs competing for attention. Erin knew it was time for a refresh – something clean, purposeful, and unmistakably her.
The Goals: Simplify, Streamline, Shine
Our goals were clear:
- Design a site that feels authentic, warm, and approachable – just like Erin.
- Simplify the user journey and eliminate decision fatigue (no more CTA chaos).
- Update and streamline her content, especially around her Workshops and Speaking offerings.
- Enhance clarity and reduce distractions (farewell, orange blocks and video testimonials).
- Build in subtle SEO strategies to help her blog content and newsletter stand out.
- Make the site easy to navigate – with a sitemap and structure built for humans, not robots.
The Process: Collaborating with Clarity
This was a true collaboration. Erin came to the table with a refreshed program guide, examples of speaker sites she loved, and a voice that was already well-developed – we just needed to bring it forward in a way that worked for the web.
I helped finesse the copy where needed, shaping content blocks that felt intentional and aligned with Erin’s tone – witty, sharp, and insightful. Together, we reimagined her CTA language, replacing generic “Learn More” buttons with more personality and purpose.
Erin was especially passionate about her newsletter – an outlet for her observations, insights, and connection-building beyond the stage. We created clear sign-up opportunities throughout the site, making it easy for visitors to subscribe and stay in the loop.
Every page had a role, from the homepage that gives a quick hit of Erin’s services and style, to the dedicated Speaking, Workshop and Coaching pages designed to convert interest into action.
